Dave Wolkowitz is a third-year law student at Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he has been named to the Dean’s List multiple semesters. As an extern for multiple judges in the Circuit Court of Cook County, including those in the Domestic Relations and Law divisions, Mr. Wolkowitz conducted research, wrote “bench memos,” assisted with the management of trials, and evaluated and analyzed the factual backgrounds of cases. Previously, he was a law clerk for the Cook County Public Guardian, where, under the supervision of attorneys, Mr. Wolkowitz represented children who are victims of abuse and neglect; in this capacity, he appeared in court, interviewed witnesses, and conducted legal research. Pursuant to Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711, the Court granted Mr. Wolkowitz a license to practice law, as a law student, under the supervision of attorneys. Previous to law school, Mr. Wolkowitz was a consultant, salesperson, journalist, and adjunct professor. He has consulted in industries including biotechnology, real estate, economic development, IT, and others. As a journalist, he has written for an executive audience on topcis such as management, law, technology, security, corporate site planning, economic development, and marketing. He earned an M.S. in integrated marketing communication from Northwestern University. Mr. Wolkowitz is a mentor in Chicago Public Schools’ “Real Men Read” program.
